A secret secluded beach. No people. No clothes. All adventure.
We had heard from others at Club Orient that there was another nudist beach on the island, but to get to that beach wasn’t exactly direct. It was kind of a word-of-mouth secret for how to get there, and if you are adventurous enough to walk off the beaten path, you will find yourself in a secluded paradise. If you missed the first article and gallery about our trip to Saint Martin you can find it at Saint Martin Naked Vacation Part 1
When one thinks of secluded beaches, there are a couple of things that come to mind: is it going to be hard to get there? Is it really a secluded beach? Are we going to waste a day of our precious vacation time to hunt a beach to only find a lot of non-nude people already on that beach? For us, we had already spent 5 days at Club Orient, and one day on a nude cruise, so we felt like we had soaked up plenty of time in the controlled nudist environments.
It was time for some adventure!
We hopped in our car and cruised to the other side of the island. The joys of driving on this island is that it is an adventure. If you aren’t used to people not being aware that there are road laws, then you should be just fine. Just be laid back about it, and you will be just fine.
Our destination was a beach, but this was just the first step. This first beach is the starting point. We crossed a little inlet of water, and headed to the far side of the beach from parking where we found the marker stone we were told about. This stone was the marker for what basically looked like a goat path, which was later confirmed by… goats.
We were on our way to Happy Bay: The Secret Beach
It was about a 15 minute walk through some very thick growth, but there was a clear path there the entire time. I would not suggest walking this path in the nude, as there were definitely a lot of plants and brush that reach out for you while you are walking. Also this isn’t a designated nude area, so the possibility of encountering other clothed people is feasible.
The bonus of this little hike is the destination, and that destination was Happy Bay; however, there were plenty of great views as we ascended and descended the sides of cliff faces and farming hills.
When we arrived at the beach, not a single person was around. The view was breathtaking water and wonderful lush sand- this is paradise!
Walking out on the beach was surreal. It’s rare in this world, at least the western world, that you can walk out on a beach and not see anyone. And this wasn’t just a little patch of beach, this was at least a 5 min walk from end to end. So to not see anyone was glorious. It’s actually kind of a strange feeling, but we took that strangeness and stripped off our clothes right away. Well, we found a nice spot in the shade, sat our stuff down and then stripped off our clothes.
We spent the afternoon lounging around, walking up and down the beach, and swimming in the beautiful water that was only steps away from our spot. In these rare occasions when no one is around, the camera came out too. Orient beach has a strict no photography policy on the beach to protect the nudist population there from on lookers and pervs.
This was our second moment inside of the week where we could freely pull out a camera to where I could take some shots of Lynn on the beach. We had fun shooting that afternoon. The pictures in the gallery below are from that afternoon. Enjoy!
